When Mike joined the Lowry brothers, he felt very passionately about making a serious commitment to the business and to the markets it serves. So, like any good salesperson, he developed a proposal and pitched the boys on bringing him in as a partner. It worked, and everyone is very happy about it (must have been a killer presentation!).
Mike is naturally an extrovert with exceptional people skills. Raindango customers appreciate how he listens, makes intelligent suggestions and responds to their calls or emails efficiently and with clarity. It’s obvious to them he has their back, i.e. he is their advocate.
In Mike’s words: “I was raised with the philosophy that if you treat others right, the rewards are much more than monetary. I’ve met so many quality people through my work who transcended being clients ̶ they are now good friends.”
Would it surprise you at all that Mike has a pilot’s license, or that he loves to ride dirt bikes? There’s something about flying in a private plane and riding a dirt bike over a mound that not only gives Mike a thrill, but a sense of rightness with the world.
Mike wasn’t born yesterday, so here’s the poop on his career: Mike has over 25 years of experience in sales, mostly in the high-tech industry. He transitioned to the home improvement industry nearly a decade ago, serving as a Senior Manager at Home Depot for many years with responsibility for sales and creativity in the Flooring, Kitchen/Bath, Building Materials and Millwork departments. He followed that stint with a position at Lowe’s Home Improvement as an Assistant Store Manager and Sales Manager for installation services.
All of this experience really paved the way for Mike to join Raindango and make an impact from day one.
Mike and his wife, Kathy, a Mary Kay consultant, have a daughter Kaylee, who is preparing the foundation for her professional career now as a student at Texas Women’s University in Denton. Their son, Charter, loves to race Endurocross and occasionally gives Mike a run for the money on the track.
